Frequently Asked Questions

What is Schoolwise?

Schoolwise is a parent coaching service that helps families navigate school related topics and challenges with confidence. We help parents feel heard, prepared, and empowered as they advocate for their child - academically, emotionally, and socially.

Is this tutoring or therapy?

No, this is not direct instruction with children. However, our time together is centered around equipping parents with tools that foster connection, clarity, & collaboration. We help parents understand the root of ongoing struggles and offer customized strategies, scripts, and support.

What kinds of topics do you help with?

When you choose Schoolwise, you're choosing a mom of three, expert in child development with a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology, and a past school founder with a passion for serving families. Cassidy is committed to guiding families with toddlers starting their school journey, to graduating seniors exploring college campuses and career options. There is little that we don't cover. If you're unsure if we can help, feel free to book a Free 15 minute Consultation!

Do you serve families with children in all types of educational environments?

Yes, we support families in all educational settings: public, private, charter, and homeschool transitions from daycare through high school.

What happens during my free 15 minute consultation?

Now is your time to share your journey. From there, we discuss hurdles and goals to ensure Schoolwise is a fit for your concerns. After the consultation, session prices and package options will be sent as you consider moving forward.

Can I book just one session, or do I need a long-term plan?

Frequency and duration of services depend on your individual circumstances. You're welcome to start with a single session. No long-term commitment is required.

Are we able to cover more than one of my children per session?

Not typically. To give your concerns the attention they deserve, each session focuses on one child at a time. If you'd like support with multiple children, we're happy to schedule additional sessions so we can fully focus and create individualized plans for each child.

Are you an advocate that will attend IEP meetings?

No, Schoolwise is not a formal advocacy service. However, we can coach you on preparing for IEP, 504, and other related meetings to understand your rights and communicate effectively. Our goal is for you to feel informed and capable to lead these meetings with authority.

Will you communicate directly with my child's teacher?

No, we do not speak with teachers or staff on your behalf. Our time together is spent working through effective communication strategies supporting the process of crafting emails, prepping for meetings, and planning actionable progress toward short and long term goals.

You know your child best.

Communicating consistently on their behalf can feel exhausting.  The longer you wait, the more overwhelmed you become.
